Galapagos Hunting

Barbaric I thought,

And brilliant.

Shooting from a helicopter

Typical humans

Primates with advanced technology

Not afraid to fly

Too dainty to touch the ground

Three goats are felled

After a quick few shots

Down quick

Unhurried, then a rapid fall

And as I watched

Without modernity’s cancer of offence

I saw the turtles

The hunter wanted to defend.
