The Unforgotten

A pregnant space

An empty chair

All the signs

Of what lay there

No scent in the air

Nor presence of heat

Save in the mind

And memories

Where it is bright

Fair as the sun

What was, and love

Become as one

A fallen friend

Or lover’s hair

Sighted or not

In the mind

Just

Right there.
